Sacred Contracts
Caroline Myss
This book, although not based on M/s, gives excellent insight on finding the archetype(s) that make up who we are and working with those and not against them. It also instructs on delineating a contract with your inner most self called the sacred contract. Very helpful in learning what kind of slave one wishes to be and living towards that.

Invisible Acts of Power
Caroline Myss
This is a great companion to Sacred Contracts. In this book we learn how to focus our inner most power (which we find through our archetypes found in Sacred Contracts). The power is funneled out by the daily choices we make. Another good book for the slave to learn how to better focus on how best to make choices in service.

Anger
Thich Nhat Hanh
This book is a must read for everyone alike Master/slave, husband/wife and everyone in general who has to deal with Anger in their life. This book offers practical, everyday things we can do to spot the anger building in us and diffusing it through breathing, walking and short meditations. It offers a Master or slave a safe outlet for built up frustration before speaking to his/her chosen partner.

The Prophet
Kahlil Gibran
This little book offers thoughts on innermost self work. Two page blogs if you will on topics we all have to face. I use this book a lot in my journaling and centering time. It is a good grounded piece of literature.

This book provides advice on a spiritual plane and from a perspective of non-attachment. From a slave's perspective, it serves as a meditation device and as a source for seeking answers. From a Master's perspective, it serves the same function. When in a relationship, it can be helpful for both to read a daily essay and then to spend some time discussion reactions and thoughts for deepening the Master/slave journey and relationship.

The Velveteen Rabbit
Margery Williams
The Velveteen Principles
Toni Raiten-D'Antonio

Again I group these two books together on purpose. This childrens book offers at least 12 good principles of life. So read the first and learn through the second. For "Yes, it does hurt to be "Real""

Partners in Power
Jack Rinella
I have to admit that this is not one of Jack Rinella's better books. Although it reads well about how we as Master/slave couples share a power unlike any other, I still find it uninteresting and a boring read.
